Ways to Give

In general, if you itemize your tax deductions, making charitable gifts can decrease your taxes. Here are six strategies that can help you make the most of your giving:

  • Give cash. Send a check to the church office postmarked by December 31, or make a gift online at upcfresno.org/give.

  • Donate appreciated stocks. Save on taxes and bypass capital gains. 

  • Make an IRA charitable rollover. Satisfy your required minimum distribution.

  • Set up a charitable gift annuity. Create an income stream for yourself.

  • Contribute a life insurance policy. Put a policy you no longer need to good use.

  • Consider giving real estate. Enjoy tax savings, avoid the hassle of selling, and make your impact.

Each of these strategies may provide a tax-smart way for you to give to University Presbyterian Church and your non-profits. To qualify for the current year tax benefit, you must postmark your gift by December 31.
