Growing Big Faith in Little Hearts!
Here at UPC, we believe that everybody is welcome here, which means kids are welcome to be their wiggly, giggly, and noisy selves. We have a number of different children’s ministry programs to help make faith come alive in age appropriate ways, and kids are always welcome to stay in worship if that works best for your family.
Godly Play
We love having children as part of our church family, and we can’t wait to welcome yours! Our Montessori-based children’s ministry for kids ages 4 through 4th grade begins after Labor Day and continues throughout the school year during worship.
Children start the service with their families, and during the announcements, a trained volunteer will escort them to the Godly Play Room, where they can explore faith through storytelling, play, and wonder. After worship, you pick them up from the class and see what they learned.
Want to plan ahead? You can pre-register your child at the link below to let us know you're coming. If it helps your child feel more comfortable, you’re welcome to tour the Godly Play Room before worship or even join them in the classroom the first couple of times—we want them (and you!) to feel at home.
We can’t wait to welcome your little ones!
Nursery
Our professional nursery care is available year-round for children ages 0-4, with caring and trained staff ready to provide a safe and nurturing space. The nursery is open Sundays from 9:30 – 11:30 am.
Of course, children are always welcome to stay in worship with their families—wiggles, snacks, and joyful (or not so joyful) noise included!
We want kids to feel at home here. If your family would prefer a little more space, we also have a Family Room off the Lobby where you can see and hear the service while having some extra privacy.
Wherever you and your little ones feel most comfortable, we’re glad you’re here!
children in worship
We believe children are an important part of our faith community, not just an addition to it. If you prefer to have your children with you in worship rather than in one of our children’s ministry programs, they are more than welcome to sing, dance, clap, draw, and move around as they feel comfortable.
To help make worship a welcoming space for all ages, we have a play area and activity tables in the Sanctuary, as well as a Family Room at the back with a changing table and toys for little ones.
community playgroup
We love welcoming little ones and their grown-ups to our free community playgroup! Every Thursday morning, we gather at the church playground for snacks, toys, and fun activities—a great way for kids to play and for parents, grandparents, and caregivers to connect.
We meet at 10 AM most of the year and shift to 9 AM during the summer, weather permitting. Children of all ages are welcome with their caregiver.
Want to stay in the loop? RSVP below to receive weekly playgroup updates. We’d love to see you there!
youth group
Youth in 5th grade and up are invited to gather for a time of creativity, curiosity, and deep conversations. We explore stories from Scripture, ask big questions, and engage in hands-on activities that make faith come alive.
We meet in the Youth Room on Sundays from 10–11 AM, except for the first Sunday of the month, when we join the whole church family in worship.
Come play, wonder, and wrestle with life’s big questions—we’d love to have you!
A Safe Place to Learn and Grow
We care about your kids and are committed to providing a safe, loving space where they can grow in their faith. Every classroom has at least two trained, background-checked adults, and our team is CPR and First Aid certified. We follow secure check-in/check-out procedures, and our age-appropriate classrooms are kept clean, updated, and engaging. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s needs, we’d love to help.
