A rich history of missional engagement with our city has lead to the development of a partnership between University Presbyterian Church and a migrant Laotian community who found their way to Fresno years ago. This partnership has blossomed over the years to become Lao Ministries and Lao Partners.

Lao Ministries offers Christian worship, Bible Study, and other activities in the Lao Language. The Lao community come together weekly to worship and join in fellowship with one another in community. Lay Pastor Tony Bountapanya shepheds the Lao Ministries group that worships together Sunday mornings at 10 in the Lao Fellowship Room, except for the first Sunday of the month when both 10 o’clock services meet together.

Lao Partners is a partnership between UPC and the Lao Evangelical Church in Laos. This ministry sends mission teams to Laos for the purpose of bringing clean water to communities in need and has brought Lao pastoral leaders to Fresno to strengthen this partnership.
